Wattage on a kettle is not the same as a fridge: one runs for minutes, the other all day at a duty cycle. If a device lists kWh per year on the energy label, that can be more realistic than assuming it draws full watts 24 hours.

Unit rates come from your bill (pence or cents per kWh). Standing charges, peak/off-peak, and VAT on energy are not fully modelled here. Scale a daily figure by how many days you actually use the appliance.
